This course aims to help entrepreneurs raise their awareness of finance and to use financial information to appraise business performance and improve business decision making.
The 3-day course is divided into three main sections:
1) financial accounting: covering financial statements, financial indicators, and metrics to benchmark a business;
2) controlling and cost management: costing and pricing decisions, break-even levels and strategic decision making (when to outsource, divest or cease operations, optimal resource allocation);
3) corporate finance: evaluating a project or business viability and determining the value drivers in a business. The course adopts a hands-on learning approach engaging participants with real-world examples and mini-scenarios so that they leave the course with the confidence and knowledge to start, own and manage their own business.

Mihaela Gavrila, Project Manager – Payments Platform at eMag: “My expectations on this course were exceeded due to Joy’s innovative approach, presenting accounting and finance in a fun way and making the information easy to understand. She backs up every part of the course with examples, exercises, and short tests to make sure the concepts are clear and assimilated. I appreciated the exercises on evaluating real companies based on the studied KPIs, bringing the theory in real-life decisions. Joy is such a nice presence, a great teacher who is always smiling while offering her students a great overview on the basis of finance. She focuses on aspects that can easily be put into practice and that can make the difference when making decisions. I left the 3-days course impressed on how much financial analysis can improve the way we look at projects and companies and curious to learn more about stock exchanges and investments.”
Paul Oancea, MSM Student, FX & MM Dealer at Banca Transilvania: “When it comes to describing Joy, I would quote Henry Brooks Adams, who, once said: “Teachers affect eternity; no one can tell where their influence stops.” Throughout the Finance course, we had at the MSM Romania EMBA program, Joy took us on an outstanding journey in the world of Finance. Yes, money does travel in time, yes, every entrepreneur should have the proper tools to assess the costs and benefits of each future project and, yes, running a company is not only a matter of costs and revenues but a matter of mitigating risks, as well.
